Prawns Masala

Prawns Masala is a simple yet delicious and packed with flavor. This is easy and quick recipe where prawns are added into onion-tomato gravy spiced with few spices. This dish goes well with dosa, roti and steamed rice.

Ingredients :

  • Prawns - 500 gms
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Onion - 5
  • Curry leaves - 1 string
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
  • Tomato - 5
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method :
  • Heat oil in a pan/kadai. Add mustard seeds.
  • When it splutters add onion and curry leaves. Fry till golden brown. 
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes away.
  • Add tomato and cook till mushy. 
  • Add in all the dry spice powders and fry for a minute.
  • Now add prawns and cook till it is soft.
  • Switch off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with steamed rice or roti.
